KBA company news – here’s your latest update from the KBA team

Every month, we share some highlights of what’s been happening in and around KBA. This month, our Nantwich team has expanded, and Emma Bell has been promoted to our events and marketing executive.

Read on to hear more from our new customer consultants, Hamish and Kerry, and find out what Emma will get up to in her new role.

Meet Kerry Marais, who’s joined us after moving from South Africa

“Hi, I’m Kerry. I am a Customer Consultant in one of KBA’s Yorkshire Building Society agencies located in Nantwich.

“Before joining KBA, I worked at a safari in South Africa, where I am from. I lived among lions just a few footsteps from my door, so an office job in Nantwich is a big change!

“My new role consists of helping customers with their accounts. This includes opening their accounts, giving them my knowledge on the current products we have on sale, and some phone calls about their accounts maturing.

“My first day was mostly about getting to know the team and understand the culture, everyone was so friendly and helpful – it was very refreshing. Before I was able to get onto the counter, I completed a series of tests to make myself familiar with the products we offer and how the business worked. I found this really useful as I hadn’t worked in the financial industry before and with being in a new country, I wanted to be my most confident self.

“So far, I enjoy learning something new each day and putting that information in practice. I’m looking forward in becoming more confident in the role and meeting new challenges.”

Meet Hamish Howard, another of our new customer consultants in Nantwich

How was your first day at KBA Financial?

It was really good, I learnt so much. We went through a lot of eLearning training online and learned about the products we offer in the agency.

Of course, I also met the team and got to know little things about each of them.

What are you looking forward to in the coming months?

Progression into doing appointments and learning how to do Power of Attorney (POA) documents for customers.

What is your job title and who do you work alongside?

I am a customer consultant for the Nantwich agency. I work alongside Kerry, Mandy, Cheryl, and Courtney.

What were you doing before you joined KBA Financial?

Working at Assurant Solutions, who specialise in mobile phone insurance. I have also been a customer of the Yorkshire Building Society my entire life.

Tell us a bit about your new role.

I provide assistance for customers and answer any queries that they have, as well as giving face-to-face customer service and completing transactions on accounts.

So far, what do you enjoy most about your new role?

Completing product transfers with customers over the counter while getting to know them and building rapport.

Emma Bell picked up a promotion and is now in charge of events and marketing for KBA Financial

How long have you been with KBA and what was your previous role?

Just shy of 18 months. Before my promotion I was a customer consultant at the Nantwich agency.

What will this new role see you doing?

As events and marketing executive, my daily tasks will entail organising events and meetings for my team and our clients, planning our social media strategy for the week, executing all the marketing for KBA, and ensuring the team is up to date with all our upcoming events.

What are you most excited about getting involved with?

I did events management at uni so it’s second nature to me, but I’m extremely excited to gain a greater knowledge of marketing, which will benefit both myself and the team in the long run.

Do you have any upcoming plans you can share with us today?

I can’t give too much away… all I will say is watch this space for some super exciting events coming your way over the next few years!
