“When I was first informed that the Nantwich branch was going to be transitioning into an agency, I felt a little uncertain and was worried about what was round the corner. Well how wrong I was!
Since KBA formed a relationship with YBS over two and a half years ago, I have been faced with new and exciting tasks which have challenged me and helped me grow as a person. As an agency we have gone from strength-to-strength, overcoming every obstacle that was thrown our way and really grown as a team.
Sarah, the proprietor, is a strong believer in culture and under Sarah’s leadership I have blossomed in my work and personal life. I am excited to come to work, the atmosphere is good, and our customers love the team and the way we work. I have received many thank-yous from customers appreciating what has been done and the excellent service they have received. These are always very well received.
Under Sarah’s management I have been promoted to Team Leader and as I have learnt the trade, Sarah has been there supporting me all the way, particularly when I have had tough situations or decisions to deal with. I have also been given the tremendous opportunity to study for Financial Exams and I am pleased to say I have passed RO1, R02 & R05 and am currently studying for RO4. I will be forever grateful for the opportunities I have been given by KBA and can’t wait to see what’s next in the years to come.”
I started with KBA in February 2021 as a customer consultant for the Nantwich agency. New to the financial industry, I was both nervous and excited for my first day as I didn’t really know what to expect. Having worked in hospitality for the past 10 years, I knew I would be fine with the customer services side of things but was unsure how I would be dealing with the finance side as it was a whole new world to me.
On my first day I was made to feel so welcome, I got through all my training very quickly and soon enough I was ready for the counter and in appointments for our YBS savings customers. After a couple weeks I met Sarah, who took me off into her office to talk to me about the company and its culture. She went on to explain that I was hired because of the fact I had put myself through an Open University and she was impressed with my work ethic. I was blown away. I had never had an employer speak to me with such fascination and prospect.
Over the next few months, I was given extra responsibilities such as booking meetings, meals out, team events etc whilst continuing to do my work as a consultant. It was a very refreshing and new way of working for me which I really enjoyed. I then went on to do additional things such as the monthly newsletters, blogs, agency focus months, compliance approvals – basically more of a marketing role. This was very new to me, but I was happy to learn as it goes hand in hand with events. I have now moved over from my role as a customer consultant and I am now the official Events & Marketing Executive for KBA – a real dream come true.”
