Every month, we share some highlights of what’s been happening in and around KBA.
This month, Laura Jones and Leyna Shuter celebrated their work anniversaries, and Mollie Scotson has been busy spreading festive cheer in support of a couple of great Christmas causes.
Laura Jones celebrates 6 years with KBA
Laura has been a brilliant member of the KBA team for six years. Here, Laura shares the story behind how she joined the team and tells us what she’s excited about for 2023.
“After working in banking for 14 years, I was looking for a change. My daughter, Phoebe was about to start school, so I was looking for something that would fit in with school hours.
“Sarah (Hogan) offered me a position that worked perfectly. I could drop Phoebe off and pick her up every day, which meant the world to both of us.
“KBA is like a family unit. I’ve never worked anywhere else quite like it. With such flexible working options, if you’re looking for a career in financial services, the management team here will work with you to find a solution that suits everyone.
“Better still, it’s very rewarding to work with clients and see them achieve their goals.
“I’m super excited about 2023 – not least because I’ll be planning my wedding!”
Last Christmas, Laura received a surprise proposal from David. You can read how it went down in our team news from January 2022.
Leyna Shuter celebrates 1 year with KBA
Leyna, our new Area Manager, has been on the team for a whole year already…
How was your first day at KBA Financial?
A little daunting as we had just transitioned from a branch to an agency of the Yorkshire Building Society*, but in the end it was no different to the previous Friday!
What do you love most about your job?
My colleagues and the customers. In my new role as Area Manager I now also get to see the well-oiled pipeline I didn’t see every day before.
Favourite memorable moment?
Our recent weekend away in Manchester. It was great getting to spend more time with colleagues I don’t normally deal with on a day-to-day basis.
Mollie Scotson has been spreading the festive cheer by helping those less fortunate
Our lovely Mollie been helping those less fortunate than herself by supporting Operation Christmas Child – a charitable organisation set up by the Samaritans to ensure every child gets a present at Christmas.
Over the last few weeks Mollie has been working around the clock creating present boxes to ensure that children around the world will have a present to open on Christmas Day.
She’s also been helping out Don’t Walk Past – a local charity set up in the heart of Manchester to feed, water, and clothe the homeless. Mollie volunteered her time and spent a day on one of the stalls in St. Peter’s Square, Manchester.
In the first hour alone, volunteers manning the stall gave out over 100 meals to homeless people in the city.
Mollie explains what made her want to get involved in such great causes and her future plans…
“Christmas is a time of the year that is extremely important to me and my family and to be able to extend that Christmas cheer to those less fortunate than myself is a great feeling. I am looking forward to continuing working with Operation Christmas Child and Don’t Walk Past in the coming years and getting to be a part of all the fantastic things they do.”
