KBA company news – here’s your latest update from the KBA team

Every month, we share some highlights of what’s been happening in and around KBA.

This month, we celebrated our Bury Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) agency and financial planning office’s 2nd birthday with a party, wished Sarah Hogan a very happy 40th birthday, and hosted a memorable Italian Charity Dinner at Don Alberto’s in Leigh.

For this, we received a donation so generous we’re offering it in a special Silent Auction, exclusively for our loyal clients. Find out how you could win a round of golf for four at the prestigious Little Aston Golf Club in Birmingham, below.

First though, we toast:

  • Laura Jones – who celebrated her seven-year work anniversary
  • Leyna Shuter – who’s been with us for two years.
  • Emma Hull – who also celebrated her two-year work anniversary
Jaymee Stone has been promoted to Bury Team Leader

Massive congratulations to the lovely Jaymee on her promotion to our new Bury Team Leader.

Just one year into her role, Jaymee is absolutely smashing it. So, we caught up with her to find out more about her promotion, what’s she’s looking forward to and the challenges she may face in 2024.

Here’s what Jaymee had to say…

“Throughout my time at KBA, I’ve undergone a significant transformation in my role. Starting with little industry experience, I gradually delved into the basics and earned trust by taking on more and more responsibilities.

“Even before this official promotion, I’ve been entrusted with specific tasks and, at times, taken charge of the agency.

“The most exciting aspect of my new role is the opportunity to guide others, mirroring the support I’ve received in my own journey.

“Witnessing the collective growth of our team toward shared goals brings me immense joy. I’m thrilled at the prospect of adding to a supportive environment where everyone feels valued, fostering strong relationships within my team and with other agency leaders.

“This role offers a unique perspective beyond customer consultancy, and I’m eager to explore the intricacies from a managerial standpoint.

“The most significant challenge I face is transitioning from a customer consultant to a managerial role. This shift is entirely new to me and will require adjusting my mindset and approach.

“Stepping back from the familiar customer-centric tasks to embrace a more managerial perspective will undoubtedly be a learning curve.

“In 2024, my primary focus is immersing myself in the Team Leader role and making the most of this valuable opportunity. I’m eager to embrace the challenges and learning experiences. The prospect of discovering the extent of my capabilities and contributing to the team’s success is something I am looking forward to with enthusiasm.”

Sarah Hogan celebrated her 40th birthday

Our wonderful, crazy, kind, caring, and funny Company Director, turned 40 last month.

Celebrations were extensive and we didn’t stop at celebrating her milestone birthday. We also took the opportunity to celebrate just how extraordinary she is, going out of her way to make the whole KBA team, clients, and her family feel cherished every day.

Sarah’s kindness, humour, and caring nature are the heartbeat of our workplace, and we’re beyond grateful to have her leading us.

To celebrate, we decided to take a trip down memory lane and create a collage of the last seven years (luckily for Sarah, our archive only goes back to 2016 — some things are better left unseen!).

See the nostalgia here.

We hosted a memorable Italian charity dinner and raised £2,300 (you could help make it more)

On 16 November 2023, we hosted an Italian Charity Dinner at Don Alberto’s in Leigh.

The evening was a tremendous success, filled with delicious food, great company, and an incredible sense of community. As a special treat, our very own Financial Planner, Garry Lomon, and his band, BandAge entertained us into the late hours.

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, we were thrilled to raise an impressive £2,300. All funds will be equally divided between two charities that do amazing work:

  1. DEBRA UK – a national charity that supports people living with the rare, extremely painful, genetic skin-blistering condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) also known as “Butterfly Skin”.
  2. The Openwork Foundation – a charity organisation that works to support vulnerable children and adults in the UK and overseas.

To help us raise even more money for these two brilliant charities, we also received a generous donation that we believe is too special to be used as a regular raffle prize.
