Every month, we share some highlights of what’s been happening in and around KBA.
This month, read about Sarah Hogan’s latest professional success, discover how much Karen Fogg raised at her 10th afternoon tea event for Breast Cancer Now, and the story behind why we celebrated the 2024 Paris Olympics in fun foodie style.
Sarah Hogan is named as finalist in the Women in Financial Advice awards 2024
Earlier this year, Sarah was nominated for the Adviser of the Year – North West award in the Women in Financial Advice awards 2024.
The annual event recognises the achievements of women working in both the financial advice community and the wide financial services arena, a sector in which women continue to be under-represented.
And Sarah recently learned that she’s made it to the final list of potential winners – for the fifth year in a row!
The awards ceremony is set to take place at a glittering gala dinner in London, on Wednesday 6 November. We’ll be there and have every confidence that Sarah will shine. ⭐️
We hosted a fun foodie event at Food Sorcery
As a special thank you to a few clients who have been instrumental in helping us grow our business, we invited them to spend the day with us cooking and enjoying fantastic French cuisine in honour of the Paris Olympics 2024 – moustaches and berets were mandatory!
Food Sorcery is a brilliant hands-on cookery school. The company’s mission is to “give you confidence to cook more, for health, for life, for fun…”.
And that’s exactly what we experienced.
Having introduced the most financial planning clients, our select group also happen to be avid social media users, so we had loads of fun learning, cooking, and sharing laughs and stories.
We truly appreciate everyone’s support in helping our business grow and look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.
Like Sarah said, “time is the only commodity we can’t invest to make more of, so we are so pleased that it was an amazing way to spend the day”.
Karen Fogg raised a fantastic £2,500.65 at her 10th annual Breast Cancer Now afternoon tea
You might recall reading about Karen hitting the local headlines in July’s news update, if not catch up here.
Karen was hoping to raise £2,500 for the charity that means so much following her Auntie Christine’s brave battle with breast cancer, who sadly died 10 years ago.
All the KBA ladies had a fantastic day at Karen’s annual Breast Cancer Now afternoon tea. And this year’s event was extra special because it marked the 10th year of her tradition. 🍰
With each passing year, the event attracts more attendees and the donations grow larger. And we’re thrilled to share that Karen and her daughters’ efforts paid off.
They raised an incredible £2,500.65 and donations are still arriving. If you’d like to donate, there’s still time, and it would be greatly appreciated.
You can donate through Karen’s JustGiving page. All funds go to Breast Cancer Now who work tirelessly to provide hope for the future and make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. 🩷
