What We’ve Been Working On: September-October Adviser Update

The KBA Adviser Team Bi-Monthly Round Up: September – October 2026

It’s been another busy couple of months for our Financial Planning Team, with plenty happening both behind the scenes and out in the community! From professional development and industry events to strengthening our client experience and celebrating some fantastic KBA milestones, here’s what Sarah, Hannah and Matt have been up to throughout September and October.

Sarah Hogan – Company Director & Chartered Financial Planner

It’s certainly been a packed couple of months for Sarah!

September kicked off with the Nantwich Food Festival, where Sarah enjoyed getting out into the community and meeting both familiar and new faces.

Behind the scenes, Sarah dedicated two weeks to planning KBA’s strategy for 2027 and beyond, including time spent at our Leadership Offsite. She also helped introduce our new triad team structure, designed to provide clients with more dedicated support and an even better experience.

Sarah has also introduced regular four-weekly meetings with the Financial Planning Team to keep client work progressing and continually improve the service we provide.

There was plenty to celebrate too, including KBA’s Culture Day, media coverage in the Mail on Sunday and the Financial Times, and attending the 50th anniversary celebrations of our trusted accountancy and tax partners, Alexander & Co.

October brought even more opportunities to learn and collaborate, including the Openwork Wealth Event, where Sarah explored developments surrounding Inheritance Tax, pensions and Omnis investments. She also attended an Openwork Study Group, met with Prudential and exchanged ideas with fellow financial advisers.

And of course, there was our quarterly KBA Team Meeting, our wonderful Karen Fogg’s  60th birthday celebrations and our Referral Appreciation Evening at Flight Club Manchester, where we had the pleasure of thanking some of the wonderful people who continue to recommend KBA.

To round off the month, Sarah is also preparing for a podcast interview on 29th October!

Hannah Needham – Financial Planner

Hannah has enjoyed a brilliant couple of months, balancing professional development with getting out and about representing KBA!

In September, Hannah joined the team at the Nantwich Food Festival, meeting members of the local community and helping spread the word about financial planning.

She also completed her Annual Competency Assessment with Openwork, an important part of maintaining the high professional standards we pride ourselves on at KBA.

Alongside this, Hannah attended Vitality Protection Training, keeping her knowledge up to date on ways to help clients protect themselves and their loved ones financially.

Hannah also made time to catch up with our professional connections, continuing to strengthen the relationships that help us provide joined-up support to clients.

And, of course, she joined the rest of Team KBA for our September Culture Day, enjoying the opportunity to come together away from our usual day-to-day routines!

Matt Marsh – Financial Planner

For Matt, September and October have been all about teamwork, improving processes and expanding his technical knowledge.

In September, Matt introduced a new weekly catch-up with Sarah Tate, helping ensure client cases continue progressing smoothly and that everyone stays on top of the next steps. It’s another great example of the team working together to deliver a better client experience.

He also joined Hannah for Vitality Protection Training, developing his knowledge of the protection solutions available to clients.

Matt attended an Intelliflo and Outlook Integration Meeting, exploring ways technology can help streamline our internal processes and improve efficiency.

In October, Matt headed to Warrington for the Openwork Wealth Day, where discussions focused on the planned changes to the Inheritance Tax treatment of pensions from April 2027, potential planning considerations and updates to Omnis investments.

He also joined the wider team for our Q4 KBA Team Day, taking time to reflect, collaborate and look ahead to the final quarter of the year.

Looking Ahead

As we head towards the end of 2026, our Financial Planning Team continues to focus on what matters most: supporting our clients, strengthening relationships and continually improving the service we provide.

With exciting plans already taking shape for 2027, we’re looking forward to what’s next!

As always, if there is anything you would like to discuss or review, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Warm Regards,
The KBA Adviser Team
